Workmen’s Compensation

      Scope of Cover/Laws 

  1. Workmen Compensation: Employer’s liability towards the employees in respect of accidental bodily injury or disease arising out of and in the course of his employment in accordance with applicable law(s) of the Sultanate of Oman. Law as per Sultani Decree 40/1977.
  2. Employer’s Liability: Liability at law arising from or caused through fault or negligence of the insured for fellow employees and/or fault or negligence of the insured in not providing safe plant and machinery and/or safe place of work and/or system of work, excluding any amount payable or due under the worker’s compensation laws. Law as per Common law and/or Sharia Law.  

LIMITS & EXTENSIONS

1.Cover to include in respect of employees not sponsored by the insured but works for the company on a contract basis, provided salaries of such employees are declared to underwriters.

2. Indemnity to employees should an employee be personally held liable for causing bodily injury to a fellow employee in the course of employment.

3.Notwithstanding any other provisions of the law conflicting with this extension, it is hereby understood that              no contribution to auto insurance or any other benefit policy shall apply in respect of this policy, should there              be more than one policy covering the same benefit. Claimant shall be eligible for indemnity under all other                  policies, as if such other policy did not exist

4.Capital Benefits - Death Compensation increased (Optional) to RO 5,000/- and other Disability benefits proportionatelyincreased

5.Medical Expenses in respect of injuries or occupational illness in Sultanate of Oman unlimited

6.Medical expenses incurred abroad up to a limit of RO. 1,500/- per employee (optional)

-Provided such medical treatment is not available in Oman and certificate to this effect to be obtained from local medical board.

- An employee is abroad on business travel or training

-If it is more expeditious to provide treatment in the country of origin of the employee.

7.Permanent Total Disablement (PTD) Accident. = 100% of the Capital Sum Insured

8. Permanent Partial Disablement (PPD) Accident = % of CSI per Continental scale

9.Temporary Total Disablement (TTD), Accident =  100% of weekly salary for 52 weeks

10.Repatriation Expenses of Dead body/Injured/Disabled Workmen, following Accidental Injury up to RO. 1500/- each case

11.Automatic inclusion/Deletion of Expatriate Employees from the date of arrival / departure and Nationals from date of Joining/Termination as per payroll

12.Extended to cover worldwide on official/Business Trips non-Manual

13. 24 hours whether on/off duty.
